Coaches - Northwest Christian will be hosting our annual home meet at Millersylvania State Park in Olympia on Tuesday October 7, 2008. 

 
We are going to utilize Athletic.Net this year to assist with registration and results so please register your junior high and senior high boys and girls into the race via Athletic.Net.
 
The course has been modified this year due to the large fields and for safety considerations due to changes in the park.   The course will be 3.0 miles in length and the starting line will be limited your top 1 or 2 runners upfront and staggered behind the front line based on position on the team.  There is also a sharp turn at the start of the race that will be  a little tight so please be aware.
 
This year we are asking that your athletes not wear spikes on the course due to a bridge that they will have to run on towards the end of the race.   The bridge was recently built by the park and spikes will be a safety concern and may harm the bridge.   Flats or training shoes are required.
 
We will have our traditional BBQ after the race for coaches and athletes.  This year to help defray the cost we are asking that each school contribute $20 towards the food, winning team trophy's, and top 10 individual medals.  Parents and family members that are attending the meet will be asked for a small donation if they want to eat at the race.
 
 
 

Directions to Millersylvania State Park:

·        From I-5 North or South (Exit 99, 93^rd Ave Scott Lake Exit)

·        Proceed East on 93^rd to Tilley Rd. (approximately 1 mile after the I-5 exit – 2^nd 4-way stop)

·        Take a right on Tilley Rd at the 4-Way Stop

·        Stay on Tilley Rd to the Park Entrance (approximately 3mi after turning on Tilley Rd)

·        Turn Rt. Into Millersylvania St. Park

·        Park in boat Launch area (proceed past initial parking area, past camping registration building, veer left then follow sign to boat launch area).

·        Northwest Christian volunteers will meet teams as they arrive to distribute race packets and direct teams to undercover picnic area near starting line.

Schedule of Events

·        3:00pm – 3:45pm – Welcome teams, receive race packets including course map, walk portions of the course.

·        3:30pm – 3:40pm – Coaches meeting near starting line

·        3:45pm – Boys’ and Girls’ Junior High / Open Race (1.65 mile)

·        4:15pm – Girls High School Race (3.1 Miles)

·        4:45pm – Boys High School Race (3.1 Miles)

·        5:15pm – 6:00pm - BBQ for athletes, coaches, parents.  Results will be announced.
