Time trial Friday -
It was very, very hot for our time trial—in fact, it was the hottest day we’ve had so far. Even though it was very hot out, we still did a great job.
We had great helpers who volunteered at the last minute. Thanks to Tyler Forsberg, Mr & Mrs Byers, Mr & Mrs Cleverly, and Mr Killion for helping monitor the course and cheering.
With 11 girls healthy enough to run (though Kayla is nursing a pulled muscle. She ran anyway), we had a great race. One of their goals is to put at most one minute between the 1st runner and the 5th runner. Check out the results. They did it! These girls are working so hard to be good. They’re off to a great start!
We had 18 runners for the boys team today. The top 5 were 1:24 apart, which is a great place for them to start. We’re really strong on the boys team, same as the girls team, with so many runners to make everyone work to improve.
Thursday we host the 22nd Annual New Plymouth Invitational and we go to McCall for a little relaxation and a short race in the trees. The week after that, we split up and take some runners to Idaho Falls for a big race, with the others heading to Catherine Creek, Oregon for the most fun race of the season.
Go Pilgrims!
