Dear Coaches:
We are all set for year five of the Concordia XC classic on Saturday, October 17 at Fernhill Park in Portland. We are adding a college/open division this year with a men’s 4 mile race and a women’s 5K. We will retain the high school format with elite and invitational high school divisions as well as the open JV and JV team scored divisions. We will again be hosting a food booth and we will have the same team and individual awards, music, bells, coaches’ hospitality, and music. There will be great competition in all divisions and fun for all!
All high school entries will be done through athletic.net (
http://www.athletic.net). The fees for high school teams are $250 for combined boys and girls teams (includes unlimited JV entries as well). Single gender teams are $150. Individuals are $25. Your team will be given 16 shirts (7 for each varsity team and 1 for each varsity coach) with your entry fee as well as great team and individual awards. I will be setting up the Saturday morning, but markings and maps will be done the day before if you want to preview the course on Friday with your team.
All college/open entries will be done on Direct Athletics (
http://www.directathletics.com ). Fees will be $250 for combined men’s and women’s teams. $150 if only one gender is entered. Individuals are $25.

Directions to Fernhill Park (at NE 42nd Ave and Ainsworth for mapquest people)
From I-5 North or South take the Lombard St. (Hwy 26 by-pass) East to the 42nd Ave exit. Take 42nd Ave South and you will see the track and park on your right. You can park around the perimeter of the park or in the old school parking lot behind the school.

The holiday Inn Portland Airport (PDX) is proud to partner with Concordia Cross Country to provide a special rate of $89.00 per night. This is a 2 double bed room and includes beakfast with the room.
Embassy Suites, Portland Airport
The Embassy Suites at the Portland Airport is also partnering with Concordia University to offer a suite with 3 double beds (2 normal and one as a pullout in the living room of the suite) for $119. This also comes with breakfast and is a tremendous rate for a triple room with the breakfast.

Awards:
The top 3 teams in each varsity high school division will receive team awards as will the top 3 teams in the college division. The top 20 individuals in each race will also receive awards.
