Coaches; Put your schedule and roster on www.athletic.net  as soon as possible, if you have not done so yet.  You can check your top seven off at any time prior to Oct. 17th.  You can turn in a final list of your top seven Varsity runners before the race at the coaches meeting if necessary.  I will put in a JV division for you to check off those runners who will not count towards the Varsity team scoring.  We run all boys together and will run all girls together.  I will add a short grade school race after the second High School Race.  The distance will be approximately 1000 meters.  More on that later.  We will have each 1000 meter marked and each mile marked.  The top ten boys and top ten girls who are checked as Varsity contestants will be all-conference.  Feel free to contact me anytime  e-mail  tbates@stmhs.org   cell phone  816-547-6429  home  816-795-8987  school  252-8733. 

Directions:  If you are going north on I-435, you would exit east on I-70 as if you were going to Arrowhead Stadium.  Keep going East on I-70 until you reach 291 Highway exit that will take you North to Liberty.  Stay on 291 North and you will go under 24 Highway and past several more stoplights until you see the Missouri River and the bridges that go over the river. The right side (east ) bridge is open for traffic again this week. The last road that you can turn east on is the turn you will make to go to LaBenite Park. This is Courtney Rd. but you will not see a street sign. You will turn right and then immediately turn left and follow the road into LaBenite Park. ( If you cross the Missouri River you missed the turn. ) The starting line is on the South side of the levee.  The only restrooms are located  about 180 yards South of the starting line so it would be a good thing to stop before you arrive.  Just remember to go East on I-70 and then exit on to 291 Highway, North to Liberty.  When you see the Missouri River bridges slow down so you do not miss the right hand turn to LaBenite Park.
