Yolo County Championships October 3rd, 2009
Entry Information
Dear Coach,
Welcome to the 7th Annual Yolo County Championships co-hosted by Woodland and Davis High Schools and Fleet Feet Sports of Davis. We want to continue to build upon the past years of success with our meet and hope to see you and your team here for our 2009 event. The racecourse again will be held on the Muller Vineyard just a few miles beyond the city of Woodland. Our date represents our permanent weekend choice: the first Saturday in October. We value your feedback and hope you will share insights and honest comments after this event so that we can continue to build an always better competition.
You should find all information regarding this meet in this packet. Registration this year again will be online using www.athletic.net. This site continues to grow in popularity and this entry method is simple and easy to use and is in place for many championship and invitational events. There will be no day of the event entries! Meet results will be computerized allowing for efficient and quick data presentation and awards determination.
We look forward to your attendance and hope that your team’s visit as well as racing experience will be enjoyable and competitive. For specific questions about this event or if you need to contact race management, please contact Chuck Bruns at chuckbruns@sbcgloabl.net or Bill Gregg at WilliamJGregg@aol.com.
Sincerely,
Chuck Bruns and Bill Gregg

Large and small school races will be run as a combined race unless fields are deemed large enough to warrant separate races. Please note the 2009 “earlier” placement of the varsity boys and girls races. The first run of the day will be the coaches and community 2 mile run. It is planned that the JV boys run will begin before 12:00 p.m. The clerk of course will check for bibs, jewelry or uniform violations (with adherence to National Federation and CIF guidelines) and assign starting boxes – two athletes per team in a box.
The courses feature wide groomed trails through the picturesque Yolo County vineyards of the Muller family property. Please make sure that your runners stay out of the vineyards and on designated trails and official team areas at all times! No dogs should be on this property – owner of dogs will be asked to leave! Please make sure your respective parents are aware of these guidelines. Failure to heed this warning could result in a team’s disqualification as well as not being invited back in the future. The courses include a short stretch of asphalt near the starting line. The 5K course is very challenging! You might encourage your parents and fans to bring binoculars!
T-shirts and concessions: Commemorative T-Shirts will be sold for $15.00 on race day from the Fleet Feet of Davis Vendor Zone. A limited number will be available for purchase. A concession stand with coffee, hot cocoa, sodas, bottled water, bagels, muffins, fruits, home baked goods, snack-bars and much more will be offered.
Water, Restrooms and shade shelter: Due to the remote nature of this setting, your team should come prepared with plenty of water and liquid refreshment. You are encouraged to bring a shade shelter as limited shade and protection from the sun will be available. Portable restrooms will be on site.
Scoring, Online Registration and Results: All divisions with team awards will use standard scoring allowing for 6th and 7th runners displacement. Individual runners will not be counted in the score. We will be using online entries again this year. Online entry information will be submitted via www.athletic.net and you must submit your entries by Sunday, September 28th . If you are unfamiliar with www.athletic.net please read your additional attachment for online entry method.
