Dear Coach and Athletic Director:

 

You are invited to compete in the annual Tiger/Grizz Invitational Cross Country Meet on Saturday, September 15, 2007 at Freeman Park in Idaho Falls, Idaho.  A Map of the course is included.  It is different than last year due to concerns by the IHSAA in lieu of our state meet course. The course is still mostly grass, but there is some pavement, gravel roads, sand and a little dirt.  There are several hills with the three most difficult in the last 1.2 miles.  To get a good view of the race, one should stand near the Vietnam memorial.  Freeman Park is located off of Science Center Drive.  Take exit 119 off of Interstate 15, then travel east on Highway 20 one half a mile to the Science Center Drive Exit, turn left and travel one half mile more to the light and turn left into the parking area at University Place.  Do not park in the gravel parking lot.  The park will be closed to the general public on Saturday.  At this time we will have the use of the University Place parking lot only.  Do not park on the course.  The course will be open around 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 15^th for inspection.  Hotel and Restaurant Information is on the next page.

 

Each school will be charged $30.00 per team for a maximum of $60.00 per school or $5.00 per individual.  Fees go to cover costs for Portable Toilets, Materials, Awards, etc.  Please send payment to Gary Kelley, Skyline High School, 1767 Blue Sky Drive, Idaho Falls, ID 83402.

 

Awards will be given in both the Varsity and Junior Varsity races.  The Varsity will receive medals for a top 20 finish and the JV will also get medals for finishing in the top 20.  Trophies for the top two teams in each varsity division for the Boys and Girls will also be presented.  This year we will have two divisions divided by population.  {A (800 students and above) and B (799 students and below)}

 

We will be using athletic.net to register this year.  The website to enter your athletes is located at www.athletic.net .  If you do not enter using athletic.net, there will be an extra fee on the day of the race of $60.00.

New tentative time schedule is:  We are needing to accomidate for a road race that was also scheduled by the Park District.  If you want to run, it is at 8:30 there is a 5K and 10K ($25)
