The Chieftain/Spirit Classic Cross Country Invitational
Palma High School would like to extend an invitation to your Cross Country team to our 17th Annual Chieftain/Spirit Classic Cross Country Invitational to be held Saturday, September 15, 2012 at Toro Regional Park (Highway 68, 5 miles southwest of Salinas)
Course: (used for 2012 CCS Championships) Approximately 3 miles of gently sloped dirt trails, flat grass lawns and two sets of hills. The course is ideal for spectators as it begins and finishes in a wide-open picnic area of the park.
When: Saturday, September 15, 2012 (the course will open at 8:00 AM)
Awards: The first 20 runners in each division race (medals) and the top 3 teams in each Varsity division (team plaque). The winning teams in the F/S & JV will also get a plaque.
Fees: $50 per team or $10 per individual ($20 minimum / $200 per school max). Please make the checks payable to Palma. Sorry, no refunds.
Entry Deadline: All entries close on Monday, September 10, 2012. This will allow us to assign numbers to each runner, post results after each race and send the result out. Teams MUST register on athletic.net. This is new but very important.
Late Entries (very limited): Any late entries must have a team roster on athletic.net by Wednesday, September 12th. Late entry fee: add $50.
Coaches Meeting: A short meeting will take place at 8:45 AM.
Facilities: Toro Park itself does not open until 8:00 AM (admission is charged per spectator vehicle- $8). There are plenty of shaded picnic and barbeque areas, lavatories, phones and water, but no dressing rooms. Snacks and T-Shirts will be available. We look forward to seeing your team on Saturday, September 15th.
