10/19/11 - Girls Win!!! For the 3rd straight year the girls brought home the title as the undisputed champs of Downriver. Cassie Breen led the way finishing 3rd. She was followed by medalists Karina Villalobos(6th), Kendra Cook(7th) and Kim Ader(14th). Aly Trapp rounded out the scoring finishing 25th.
Ahron Gunn became the 6th Woodhaven boy to win the individual title at the News-Herald Invitational. Conrad Schultz finished 2nd overall. The 1-2 finish was not enough to hold off strong packs from Trenton, Wyandotte and Riverview. The boys finished 4th in the team competition. Kris Childers was the only other Warrior to medal. He was 14th and was named to the All Area team.
10/10/11 - News-Herald Week! This it folks - News-Herald Week! This year's News-Herald looks to be one of the best in years. Four teams will challenge for the title - Woodhaven, Wyandotte, Trenton and Riverview. The title will go to the team that races best this Saturday! LET"S GO WARRIORS!!!!
Portage Invite - Many thanks to all the parents that volunteered to make our a huge success!! Ahron Gunn and Logan Kleam both captured 5th place medals in their races. Ahron cracked into the 15's for the first time. The girls were led by Kim Ader and placed 20th as a team. The boys finished 23rd. The 80 degree temps made it hard to land a PR but a number of kids turned excellent performances. Thanks to Randy Strawsine for the pictures that are now up.
9/28/11 - Tomorrow's meet against Southgate will be run @ Patriots Park in Riverview. Patriots Park is located on Sibley Rd near Fort Street. The girls will run at 4pm and the boys at 4:30.
9/21/11 - The Warriors Boys and Girls teams both scored double wins over Carlson and Allen Park yesterday at Lake Erie Metro Park! The course was soggy but both teams proved to be no match for their DRL rivals. On the boys side, Ahron and Connie went 1-2 with Cameron and Kris taking 5-6. Dean rounded out the scoring (11th) with Kurtis Turner nipping at his heals in 12th. In the girls race, Kendra Cook was the first Warrior across the line in second place followed closely by Kim in 3rd.
Spartan Invite (9/16) - The teams travelled to the MSU Spartan Invite for the first time (replaced the Holly Invite on our schedule). The boys placed 23rd as a team in the Green Division. Our two medalists were Ahron Gunn (9th) and Conrad Schultz (17th). It was a great day and there were a boatload of PR's and Season bests!
9/12/11 - The Warrior Boys and Girls teams placed 3rd at Saturday's 2nd Annual Warrior CC Classic. It was a very wet day (check out the pics!!) but the kids persevered. Many thanks to the volunteers that braved the weather and a special thanks to Randy Strawsine that captured the day on film. Conrad Schultz led the way capturing first overall in the Boys race. Other medalists were: Dino Pereira (20), Kris Childers (21), Cameron Karagitz (25) and Robert Schultz (28). The girls were led by Kendra Cook (6), followed by Kim Ader (15), Cassie Breen (20) and Courtney Patterson (29). Next up for the Warriors is a trip to East Lansing Friday (9/16) for the Spartan Invitational.
9/6/11- Warriors take 2nd at the Mason Relays! The relay team of Ahron Gunn and Conrad Schultz destroyed the rest of the field and captured 1st. The next two teams across the line were Robert Schultz/Cameron Karagitz(16) and Kris Childers/Dean Strawsine(17). Other medalists teams were Dino Pereira/ Mike Kent(27) and Christian Ramirez/ Joey Galea (38).
9/1/11 - Warriors lose to Wyandotte 26-33. Ahron Gunn finished 1st and Conrad Schultz was second but the Bears took places 3 - 6 and then cinched the meet by taking places 8-10.
Warrior CC Camp 2011 was a huge success. The girls joined the boys at camp for the first time. All the standard workouts were carried over to our new facility (Summerset Beach Camp - in Irish Hills), Arbs & Harvards, Hudson Mills TT and last day Triangles. A new run, Sand Hill Rd Run, looks like a keeper! It was a great week! Go Warriors!!
