Teton High School is hosting ultra runners passing through the area on a 180 mile, 2 day relay. For providing simple dinners and access to the school showers, our team stands to make a small bundle. We will work in 3 or 4 hour shifts for a period totalling about 17 hours. When the last team departs on the morning of the 18th, we will head off for our own big adventure ....

A Labor Day Holiday for the active athlete. This plan involves all parents willing to drive us to the Death Canyon trailhead inside Grand Teton Park. We will meet in Victor at 6am and be hiking by 7am. The trail is long and ascends Static Pk (11,303'). I rate this effort harder than climbing Table Mt. The view from the top is extraordinary. The descent is long and works the quads like never before.

TEARC RUNNING CAMP 2013 (6/24 TO 6/29)

 

Teton Endurance Alpine Running Camp 2013


Location: Grand Teton National Park and vicinity


Dates: Monday, June 24th to Saturday, June 29th


Athletes will have in-depth instruction in pacing, passing, Racing, training techniques, up-hill & down-hill technique, nutrition, strength, flexibility, neuro-drills, form & efficiency, breathing, hydration, etc.


We will have down time, brisk swims in cold water, meal preparation, Evening presentations and social games and activities. The camp will also include at least one adventurous outing to a non-technical summit or alpine destination and on Saturday morning we will wrap things up with a challenging race effort in the mountains.


Lodging is still not negotiated yet but I am looking into the possibility of having cabins with primitive bunks. The other possibility is to return to Gros Ventre Group Campground. Both venues are inside the Park Boundaries.

$50 Deposit Due: Tuesday, June 4th

After June 4th, the cost goes goes up to $200

Cost can be negotiated if a camper can bring an Annual Park Pass to the camp or can share a large vehicle for the duration of the camp.
