Parking: All buses need to park on the grassy area north of the track/football stadium, the parking lot next to the grassy area, or the parking lot west of the stadium. Directions from:
North: US-127 – first Alma exit – Wright Ave – right on Iowa – to site.
East: M-46 – left on Main Street – right of Iowa Street – to site.
South: US-127 – first Alma exit – turn right/west – right on Main – left on Iowa – to site.
West: M-46 – right on Main – right on Iowa – to site.
Coaches Meeting: 9:30am Located in the tent on north end of track (Start/Finish Line). Packet pick up and other info.
Divisions: Three (3) divisions – larger, medium, and smaller sized schools. (2010 Divisions shown below:
Smaller: Onekema - MP Sacred Heart - Crossroads Academy – Fulton – Breckenridge - TC St. Francis - St. Charles - Ithaca. (8)
Medium: Shepherd - Benzie Central - Powers Catholic - Big Rapids - Chippewa Hills – Grayling – Alma - Corunna (8)
Larger: Gaylord - Mt. Pleasant - St. Johns - Okemos - HH Dow - Traverse City Central - Traverse City West. (7)
Entry Fees: $225 (covers both teams) – Make checks payable to Alma College. Send or deliver the day of competition to Gordie Aldrich, Alma College, 219 Hogan PEC, 614 West Superior. Alma, MI 48801.
Admission: $5.00 – Pre-school free.
T-Shirts: Quality t-shirts will be available for $10.00.
Awards: 1. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place team – 25 medals.
2. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place team trophies.
3. Top three places in individual events.
4. Top three places for relay events.
Entries: Three (3) athletes per individual event and one (1) relay team.
Entry deadlines and procedures:
1. All entries will be online at www.athletic.net.
2. All INITIAL entries are due on Sunday, May 8 by 9:00pm.
3. Performance lists will be visible on the www.athletic.net web page as entries are made.
4. All FINAL entries can be made up to Thursday, May 12 at 9:00pm.
5. NOTE: Absolutely NO additions after Thursday!!!!!!! You can substitute one of your runners for someone already entered. For example, Sally Jones is in the 100m Hurdles and gets the flu. Alice Cramden can take her place in the event – check in as Sally and I will change the names after the meet.
Scoring: 1. All events score all athletes.
Individual events: Example, 8 schools / 24 down to 1
Relay events: Example, 8 schools / 48 down to 6.
2. Heats will be designed with all runners competing together. BUT, team points and medal awards will be divided by division.
Shoes: ¼ “ spikes max!!!!!!!
Events: High Jump and Pole Vault – 5 alive.
Long Jump – Open order – contestants will wear numbers.
Shot Put/Discus Throw – 4 attempts/no finals. Shorter to farther - (2-1-1). Weigh in under stadium bleachers starting at 8:30am.
Running Events – All are timed finals. None lane races may use hip numbers.
Time Schedule: 10:00 – Field Events – weigh in under stadium beginning at 8:30.
Shot Put Girls – North Circles / Girls Discus Throw follows.
Discus Boys – East Circles / Boy’s Discus Throw follows.
Pole Vault Girls / Boys
Long Jump Boys / Girls
High Jump Girls / Boys (together) – Boys will jump in blue pit and girls in the red pit.
Running events: Rolling schedule / as fast as we can go. Girls events precede boys.
