18th  Annual Friday Knight Relays

 ENTRIES ARE DUE IN NO LATER THAN WEDNESDAY MARCH 28th  @ 2:00. I WILL POST ENTRIES AND EMAIL HEAT SHEETS.

To:  All coaches attending the 18th Annual Friday Knight Relays.

Date:  Friday March 30, 2012.  The coaches meeting will start at 3:20.  Field events start at 3:45 p.m.  Track events start at 4:00 p.m.

Entry Fee: $250.00.  This will cover both boys and girls teams.

Medals:  Top three in each relay will receive medals.  With the top two teams receiving Trophy’s.

Events:  All events will be run as finals.  Each event will have only one heat with the exception of the co-ed shuttle hurdle relay and the 300m intermediate hurdle relay. 

  • The long and triple jump areas will be open for 1 hour. 
  • Jumps will be cafeteria style; the best jumps from all three competitors will be added together to determine the winner.  No tape is allowed on jumping surfaces.
  • Shot and discus: will be put into flights (2 teams at a time throwing).  Each thrower will be allowed 3 throws; the best throws from all three competitors will be added together to determine the winner. 
  • High Jump and Pole Vault: will be run as a regular meet as far as heights.  Opening height will be determined at the coaches meeting.  The last clearing height of each 3 jumpers will be added together to determine the winner. 

Rules:  We will follow the MSHSAA and National Federation Handbook Rules.

Shoes and Spikes:  Flat shoes in the shot and discus areas.  All other track events 1/4 “ spikes or smaller are allowed on the track at Howell North.

All teams should come dressed.

Restrooms will be available at the entry building near the tent area.

Concessions will be sold by the Francis Howell North Booster Club.

Friday Knight Relays tee shirts will be sold at the meet.  Please tell your athletes that the cost is $6.00.  I will only have a limited number to sell.  So remind athletes these sell  fast .

Admission for All is $4.00.

No Music is allowed in the track area.

Meal tickets will be proved at the meet.

Coaches will make the decision if we will run on the time schedule or ahead of schedule at the coaches meeting.

Seeding this year will done online.  Information to follow at a later date.

 

Special Entry Instructions

  • 4 x 200 will serve as entry for the 8 x 200 ( I just need your time and at least one kid on the relays' name)
  • Sprint Medley (200,200,400,800) will serve as entry for the Middle Distance Medley
  • Distance Medley (12,4,8,16) will serve as entry for Co-ed Distance Medley.
  • 4 x 300 M Hurdles will serve as entry for the 3 x 300 M Hurdles.

3:45        Field events start

4:00        Girls 4 x 800m Relay

4:15        Boys 4 x 800m Relay

4:30        CO-ED Shuttle Hurdles  Points counted for both boys and girls meet.

4:50        Girls 8 x 200m Relay

5:05        Boys 8 x 200m Relay

5:20        Girls Sprint Medley  (100,100,200,400)

5:30        Boys Sprint Medley (100,100,200,400)

5:40        Girls 4 x 1600m Relay

6:10        Boys 4 x 1600m Relay

6:40        Girls 4 x 100m Relay

6:50        Boys 4 x 100m Relay

7:00        Girls Middle Distance Medley  (200,200,400,800)

7:10        Boys Middle Distance Medley (200,200,400,800)

7:20        CO-ED Distance Medley  (1200 Girl, 800m Boy, 400m Girl, 1600m Boy)  Points count for both boys and

                girls meet

7:40        Girls 3 x 300m Hurdles  Combine all three times to determine winner.

8:00        Boys 3 x 300m Hurdles  Combine all three times to determine winner.

8:20        Girls 4 x 400m Relay

8:30        Boys 4 x 400m Relay

 

 

 

 

Field Events

Jump pits will be open for 1 hour.  Jump will be cafeteria style; the best jumps from all three competitors will be added together to determine the winner.  NO FINALS

3:45 to 4:45 Long Jump Boys and Triple Jump Girls

5:00 to 6:00 Long Jump Girls and Triple Jump Girls

3:45  Boys  Pole Vault….Girls Pole Vault will begin 15 minutes after the conclusion of the girls.

3:45 to 4:45  Boys Discus and Girls Shot Put

5:00 to 6:00  Boys Shot Put and Girls Discus

**Note:  Athletes will be given 3 throws

3:45 High Jump Boys….Girls High Jump will begin 15 minute after the conclusion of the boys high jump
