The PB and J relay
The PB and J relay is the 4x100m relay with a twist. The first will carry a loaf of bread and hand that off to the 2nd leg who will also have to carry a jar of peanut butter. The 2nd leg will hand off the loaf of bread and jar of peanut butter to the 3rd leg who also has to carry a jar of jelly. The 3rd leg will hand off all three items to the 4th leg who will carry the items through the finish line to a table outside the gate. From there, one person will make a PBJ sandwich and eat it. The team who finishes the sandwich first wins.
Throwing Events
Teams of three. No limit on teams. Each thrower is allowed three throws and the best throw is recorded. Each team of three is expected to report to the event as a team rather than individually. Each team will get their throws in taking turns with their teammates. Best throws from each member of the team are added together for a team overall distance. Example would be CPC fields two male teams of three and still has an additional two throwers they wish to compete. They simply throw and while their throws are not added to a team total, their longest throw is still recorded and will be entered in Athletic.net.
Jumping Events
Each horizontal jumper gets three jumps and the best performance is recorded. Each team of three alternates through their jumps taking turns. Best jumps from each member of the team are added together for a team overall distance. Vertical jumps will be run in an open pit format with the bar continuing to move up. Each team of three has their best performance recorded and added to teammates mark for grand total.
While a summary of the throwing and jumping relay teams will be sent out to the schools via email, the meet will not be officially scored. All performances (team and individual results) will be entered in on athletic.net.
Event Assignments:
Juanita High School will run the finish line and log the results at the meet as well as on Athletic.net. Coaches will be expected to get splits for their own athletes during the relays. Schools will need to help cover field events:
