40th Annual John Frank Invitational

The John Frank Invitational Track Meet will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Central Valley High School on our Atlas Urethane Track. Field events begtin at 10:00; Running events follow at 10:30.
ENTRIES: You may enter up to three athletes in each event. All entries must be made online at: www.athletic.net. Locate your state, section, and school, and then activate your account if you have not already done so. The close of entries will be Wednesday, April 14th at midnight. Be sure to use Junior Varsity, NOT Frosh-Soph.
SUBSTITUTIONS: WE WILL ONLY ALLOW BODY FOR BODY SUBSTITUTIONS IN ALL EVENTS, NO ADDS. Substitutions in Track events will be made at the clerk. All substitutions in the field events will be done at the event.
ENTRY FEE: $5.00 per relay, $4.00 per individual, per event. $250.00 max per school. PLEASE mail your check or bring to the meet.
ALL RACES ARE TIMED FINALS: We will run all events as timed finals in an effort to speed up the meet.
FIELD EVENTS: Varsity Field event competitors will still get three trial jumps or throws and the top 7 will go on to the finals immediately after the trials. Trial marks carry over to the finals. Junior varsity competitors will get 4 throws or jumps, no finals. Please tell your athletes to stay at the event to compete in the finals.
ADMISSION: Admission will be charged this year. Please let your parents know. $3.00 for adults/$1.00 for kids and seniors.
FACILITIES: The track and runways are urethane and 1/4" spikes are required.
AWARDS: Medals will be awarded to first through sixth place. Team trophies will be awarded to the winning team in all four divisions. New this year, athletes will pick up their medals from the front of the press box. Medals will be available for pick up after the results of the event have been announced. Tell athletes not to come into the press box, go to the front window where the sign is. Trophies will be mailed to the winning schools.
COED 4 X 200 RELAY/ THUNDER 40/ WEIGHT MAN'S RELAY: We are running a 4 X 00 coed relay. Teams will have 2 boys and 2 girls. Athletes must be either varsity or frosh/soph, please don't mix them. You must place your female runners 2nd and fourth. The THUNDER 40 is designed for the 200+ pounders, so please be sure they weigh at least 200. Blocks will be availabe to the runners. A weigh-in will occur at the Clerk's tent. All members of the weight man's relay must be throwers, please, NO RINGERS!!!!
CLERK OF THE COURSE: Competitors in running events will report to the clerk by 2nd call. They will be given their heat and lane assignments when they check in. Late athletes will be scratched. The clerk is located at the north end of the track adjacent to the softball field. All warm-ups must be done on the softball field.
FINISH LANE STICKERS: All runners must wear a sticker, which will have their name, school and event. The sticker will be used at the finish line so be sure to have your athletes fill out and wear them. Stickers will be available at the clerk.
UNIFORM RULE: We will enforce the uniform rule as printed in the 2011 rule book. Please instruct your athletes to wear a school-issued jersey and shorts. Tights must be solid color as per the rule book. Any special uniform request must be cleared in advance with the Meet Director. Remember, no jewelry is allowed. Athletes will be disqualified if out of compliance.

POLE VAULT WEIGHT VERIFICATION: Coaches must sign the weight verification sheet at the pole vault prior to the start of competition.
RESULTS: We will attempt to have results available at the end of the meet. We will also mail copies to all coaches on Monday, April 11.
SNACK BAR: There will be a snack bar, which will operate throughout the day.
TEAM HEADQUARTERS: Make your team headquarters in the bleachers or on the areas around the track. Please stay outside the track area unless you are actually competing. No footballs, frisbees, or BBQ equipment, please. No MP3 players with headphones or cell phones inside the fence.
