Brookings-Harbor high School is proud to host the 2011 Far West District Meet at Elmer Bankus Field on Friday(5-13) and Saturday (5-14).Coaches should have their entries on athletic.net by 9:00 AM on Saturday(5/7). A seeding meeting for the league coaches to determine entries, game committee considerations,and the final event schedule will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday(5-7) in the BHHS Library. Enter the main entrance-go straight down the hall and it is on your right.Sorry no chineese food this year but we will serve the famous Wild River pizza.Each school may have 3 entries per event and 1 relay per school.Finalized meet entries will be made available following Sat. seeding meeting.I have posted a preliminary schedule for Days 1 and 2 on the athletic.net site.
As per Far West League SOP's,there will be an admission charge of $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for non-participating students. Medals will be awarded to league champions in each event and ribbons for places 2-8.A placque will be given to the top runner,jumper and thrower for the meet for both boys and girls.Spectators and noncompeting athletes will not be allowed on the infield during competion. Athletes are reminded to be aware of the jewelry rules and uniform requiements set by the National Federation. There will be District sweat shiets and T-shirts on sale for $25.00 for SS and $15.00 for T-shirts. Sweat shirts are a limited quanity so get your early on Friday. We can print more t-shirts friday night if we run out and you put in a request.
Weigh-ins for implements and pole vaulters will go from 10:30-11:30 each day of competion. Checked in implements will be impounded untill 1/2 hour before event begins.
In the field events top 9 will advance to the finals Running events with 2 heats the top 3 from each heat plus the next two fasteast times will advance. 3 heats the top 2 places plus the fastest 2 times overall will advance. 8 places will score 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1.
