Welcome to the 2011 Riverside Jr. High Invitational Track Meet! Please read the information below and proceed to entering your athletes. If you have any questions please direct them to the Meet Director.
Field event will precede running events. All field events do not need to be completed before beginning running events, but should be well under way. The 300-meter hurdle races will be run during the field events and well before the next race, the 100-meter hurdles.
A. Each school will have two teamS. One will be composed of all eligible 7th and 8th grade girls and the other team of all eligible 7th and 8th grade boys.
B. The meet director at any meet has final authority in any final decision which needs to be made. THE MEET DIRECTOR FOR THIS MEET IS TOM GRIMES.
C. Girls running events shall be run first.
D. All participants in the field events will be granted three trials except in the high jump.
E. Lane assignments for all meets except the association meets should be determined by the meet director before the meet on the basis of lot and rotated after the first race.
F. Lane and flight assignments are to be determined by entries recieved through athletic.net by Thursday, April 7th by 10:00am. No Changes will be made to the meet after that time with the exception of scratches.
G. A scratch meeting shall be held prior to the start of any meet for running events only. Field event scratches will be handled at the event. Additional entries in any event will not be allowed the day of the meet. DO NOT ALLOW ATHLETES TO BE ADDED OR TO ADD THEMSELVES TO EVENTS ON MEET DAY. PARTICIPANTS ADDED TO FIELD EVENT SHEETS WILL NOT BE PROCESSED.
H. A participant may compete in no more than four (4) events of which there is a maximum of three (3) running events. PARTICIPANTS FOUND TO BE COMPETING IN MORE THAN 4 EVENTS WILL BE SCRATCHED FROM THE MEET. PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK YOUR ENTRIES.
I. There is a limit of four (4) entries per school per event at all meets. Two entries will be allowed in relay events. Both teams will be scored.
J. Girls high jump must start at 3’6”. It is recommended to increase the height of the girls high jump by 2” up to 4”; after that, increase the height by 1”. Boys high jump will begin at 4’0”. It is recommended to increase the boys high jump by 2” up to 4’6”; after that, increase height by 1”.
K. With the exception of those rules that have been adopted by the association (UMMSAA), the national federation edition of track and field rules will govern all meets.
