11th^th Annual Houston Christian High School

Middle School Invitational Track & Field Meet

Dates:             Tuesday and Wednesday, April 3 & 4.  On Tuesday we will have the girl’s field events and the boys running events, and then on Wednesday the boys will have field events and the girls running events.

Time:              The meet will start at 4:00 p.m. both dates.   

Location:        Houston Christian High School, located on the corner of the Sam Houston Toll Rd. and Kempwood, about 3 miles north of I10.  The address is 2700 W. Sam Houston Pkwy. N.

Divisions:        There will be 12 divisions, 6^th grade girls, 6^th grade boys, 7^th grade girls, 7^th grade boys, 8^th grade girls, and 8^th grade boys, with a small school, Division 1(average of 55 or fewer per grade for the total student body), and large school, division 2(average of 56 or more per grade for the total student body).

Entry Fee:      $40 per division, or $8 per athlete.  If you have fewer than 5 athletes in one division you will be ahead paying per athlete. Make checks payable to HCHS track.

Entry Deadline:         Monday, April 2 at 10 p.m. online at athletic.net. Please enter the correct division. Please contact John Willis at johndebwillis@juno.com for any tech questions. All entries are to be done online at athletic.net.  

Number of Events per Athlete:

Each athlete may participate in 5 events, but not more than 3 running events, and then only 2 individual events out of the 400m, 800m, 1200m, or 1600m.  They may run the 400m, 800m, and the 4x400m relay, but not 3 individual events that are 400m or longer.

FAT:               We will be using “Flash Timing.”  All races will be finals against time. 

Awards:         Ribbons to places 1-6 in each event for all 12 divisions and team plaques to the top 2 schools in each division. 

Scoring:          10-8-6-4-2-1, with relays doubled.

Order of Events:      

In the running events, the 6^th grade division 1 will always go first. We will go 6-1, 6-2, 7-1, 7-2, 8-1, and 8-2. Please note the order below for field events.  This is the schedule for both days.

Shot Put#1:     7-1       6-1       8-1(girls 6 lb shot, boys 8 lb.)

Shot Put#2:     7-2       6-2       8-2                  

Discus#1:        6-1       8-1       7-1 (all throw 1.0 discus)

Discus#2         6-2       8-2       7-2

Pole Vault:      8^th only. All divisions (boys and girls) together at 4:00 p.m., on Wed. but separate awards.
