2012 Mooberry Relays
Date: Saturday, April 21st, 2012
Location: John R. Rogers High School
Spokane, WA
Start Schedule:
8:00am Hammer Throw (@ SCC)
8:40am Coaches Meeting (Cinderblock Shed)
9:00am Track Events begin
10:00am Field Events Begin
The Meet:
Each school is allowed two participants per individual event and one relay team per relay. Most events are scored in a “relay” format, where the combined distances/times of the two participants of a given school determine placing in event. Top 5 teams will be scored 10-8-6-4-2
Of the individually scored events, The LINDGREN MILE, our featured event, offers each team the opportunity to put forth their best miler to commemorate the Olympic great Gerry Lindgren. The top 5 individuals will be scored 10-8-6-4-2.
The other events scored individually will be the 100m Dash, 110m/100m Hurdles, 300m Hurdles, and the 3200m Run. Each of these events will be scored 5-4-3-2-1
Flight and heat seeding will be based on current times and distances on athletic.net when athletes are registered. Entries are required on athletic.net no later than April 19th. Scratches can be made the morning of the meet, but substitutions will not be allowed.
Medals will be awarded for the top 3 relays in every event. Ribbons will be awarded for 4th and 5th place.
Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 male, female, and combined teams.
The top female and male athlete of the meet will receive a plaque commemorating their efforts (these will be voted on by the coaches near the end of the meet).
Please register your team on athletic.net prior to April 1st.
Entry fee:
Individual team (male or female) - $75
Combined Team (Both male & Female) - $140
Per Individual - $10 (not to exceed $140)
Coaches:
There will be a coaches “lounge” located at the south end of the track in the cinderblock shed. Scratch sheets will be laid out at 8am, along with an assortment of breakfast foods, coffee, juice, etc. The coaches meeting will commence at 8:40am. The “lounge” will be open for the remainder of the day and will have snacks and bottled water available.
Buses and Parking:

With the assumption that all Spokane Public Schools teams will be dropped off and picked up, there should be enough room for busses to park in our bus lane on Heroy and then around the corner behind the baseball field on Helena Street. Guest parking will be available in our east parking lot near the front of the school, which is off of Wellesley on Pittsburg St. If parking lot is full, then the side streets off of Perry Street would be the next best option. Please do not park on the east side of Perry Street as it is a tow away zone.
The Facilities:
We are proud to host The Mooberry Relays back at Rogers with our brand new track and field facilities. To keep them looking new and in top shape we are asking that coaches would have athletes use ¼ inch spikes only on the track and runways.
The school building will be open for public restrooms as well as our restrooms out at the track itself. Please do not put tents or awning up inside the track. The area inside the track will be used for the discus, the marshaling area, and for athletes to warm-up.
Our parent group and booster club will have concessions open throughout the entirety of the meet. T-shirts will also be available for purchase.
General cost of admission: Adults - $6 Youth - $4
We thank you for you continued support of The Mooberry Relays. If you have any questions, please contact us.
