Meet Information
Welcome to our 6th year hosting the River Valley High School "Falcon" Track and Field Invitational. The meet will include all the standard high school events, as well as the 4x200 and 4x800 relays as scoring events and the 4x100 Thrower's Relay as an exhibition event. A Middle School Mile will be the first running event at 10:00, open to any 6th, 7th or 8th grader.
Meet scoring will be 10-8-6-4-2-1 with 1st and 2nd Place plagues for Varsity Boys, Varsity Girls and Frosh-Soph Boys. Medals will be awarded to the top five finishers in all open events and the top 3 relay teams for all relays.
Cost for the meet is $200 per school, or $10 per individual for teams under 20 athlete. If your team provides a knowlegeable adult to help officiate an event, the fee is reduced $50. Please contact the meet director, Paul Odegard, at podegard@ycusd.k12.ca.us to inform us of the name of this person and experience level. Send checks to RVHS Falcon Track and Field, c/o Coach Odegard, River Valley High School, 801 El Margarita Road, Yuba City, CA 95993 or deliver them in person on the day of the meet.
There will be a full snack bar. Each team packet will include two tickets for coaches to redeem for a free lunch. Volunteer help will also receive a free lunch.
Admission: $5 for adults and $3 for students or children under 12. Middle School Milers enter for free.
Entrees: Coaches should enter their teams by Wednesday, April 10 for download and seeding on the 11th. ON the day of the meet, whether entered previously or not, all athletes need to report to the clerk of course and check in at First Call for the event in which they are to particpate. Athletes check in or are registered by the clerk of course and remain in the area. At Final Call, about 15 minutes later, entry to the event will be closed. No-shows are scratched, and the heat sheets are sent to the timer to be re-seeded. Re-seeded heat sheets come back to the clerk of course for assignment of heats, lanes and hip numbers to the athletes. Heats will then be led to the starting area for their races. In this way we maximize participation and have full, competitive heats.
