Dear Athletic Director/Track Coaches:
Enclosed is information concerning the Pine River Invitational Track Meet on May 5, 2012.
Attending Schools: Pine River, Farwell, Hesperia, Kalkaska
Evart, Ludington, Kent City, and NMC
Scratch Meeting/Coaches Meeting - High School Cafeteria (8:30am)
Entry Procedures: You are allowed to compete a maximum of 4 participants per individual event - You will be allowed to enter 5 names on the computer entries but will need to scratch one entry at the scratch meeting. You may enter one scoring relay team per relay event and you may also enter a 2nd non-scoring/non-placing relay team per relay as well. There will be no additions or substitutions allowed at the scratch meeting. You will make entries online at www.sydexports.com.. Once at the website choose: ‘Track and Field online meet setup/send entries to a meet’. Head boys and girls coaches , please use the same sydex log-on TEAM CODE and TEAM NAME that was assigned to you for the Regional meet. This info can be found at www.mhsaa.com (under track and school abbreviations). Entries are due by 4:00pm on Monday, April 30, 2012.
Implement Weigh-In: Located at the Press Box (8:15 – 9:00am)
Field Events: (9:30am)
Field events will follow the MHSAA order per officials pal. Girls’ high jump, pole vault and shot put and Boys’ discus and long jump will be held first. Upon completion, Girls’ discus and long jump and Boys’ high jump, shot put, and pole vault will begin.
In the long jump, shot put and discus, athletes will be given 3 preliminary attempts. The top 7 competitors will advance to the finals. Athletes will be given 3 attempts in the finals. The 3 attempts from the preliminary rounds will be carried over to the finals for scoring purposes. The long jump will use an open pit format.
Starting Distances: Throws/Jumps less than the following distances will not be measured:
Discus - boys 90’ girls 70’
Shot Put - boys 35’ girls 25’
long jump- boys 17’ girls 12’
Starting Heights: High Jump = 5’2” boys 4’2” girls 5 alive format
Pole Vault = 9’6” boys 6’ 6” girls
***Coaches – please make sure you sign the pole vault verification sheet during the scratch meeting.
Preliminary Races: (10:00am)
Preliminary races will be held in the 100, 100/110 hurdles, and 200. 12 runners in each event will be qualify for the semi-finals. 6 runners in each event will qualify for the finals.
Finals Races: *We will not be using lane 6 during the 300m Hurdles, 400m Dash & 1600m Relay.
*If necessary, we will run 2 heats of both the boys and girls 1600m Run
*The boys and girls 3200m run will be conducted in single heats for both
*The last heat of each finals race will be the fast heat
Blocks/Spikes: Starting blocks will be available for all teams. Pyramid spikes (1/4 inch showing) are recommended for our track. No pin spikes please.
Team Space: Athletes not competing are asked to stay off of the track and out of the infield area at all times. There is plenty of space in the immediate area for tents, etc.
Concessions: The concession stand will be open all day - including our famous grilled chicken dinners. A reduced price for chicken dinners is offered to athletes in uniform.

Spectator Admission: $5.00 per person/10.00 per car load. Tickets will be sold at the front entrance gate.
Individual/Team Awards: Trophies are given to 1st and 2nd place teams. Medals to the top 6 in each individual event. Medals to the top 3 relay teams in each relay event.
