TRACK FACILITY INFORMATION
Jesuit completed a two million dollar renovation of its stadium in the summer of 1999. The new micro-encapsulated polyurethane track surface is both fast and easy on athlete’s legs. There are three throwing
areas as well as fast runways for the pole vault, high jump, and long/triple jump.
Spikes :Runners may wear spikes or racing flats. Spikes must be pyramid-shaped and no longer than 1/4 inch. Needle spikes and spikes longer than 1/4 inch will not be allowed on the track or on any of the runways. Spikes will be checked. Coaches, communicate this to your athletes so that they have the type of spikes they need. Thank you for your help.
TRACK CONDUCT/ATHLETE WARM-UP: Our goal is to provide a showcase in which your athletes may complete and to allow them access to proper warm-up and preparation for their events. With this goal in mind, we would ask that head coaches make sure that their athletes and assistant coaches follow these guidelines:
1.Warm-up are on main field: Head coaches and athletes preparing for their next event are
allowed on the field. NOSPECTATORS SHOULD BE ON THE MAIN FIELD. ATHLETES NOT
CURRENTLY COMPETING OR WARMING UP AND ASSISTANT COACHES SHOULD NOT
BE ON THE MAIN FIELD.
2. Finish Line/F.A.T/Timers’ area: Coaches and athletes are not allowed in this area.
3.Press Box: Athletes are not allowed in this area. We want to keep this area clear for
meet officials. Results will be announced as soon as they are available.
AWARDS/SCORING/FINAL RESULTS:
An award/results packet will be presented to each coach at the conclusion of the meet.
Places in field events will be determined by the total combined distance/height of each school’s three
competitors in that event.
Medals will be given to 1st place teams and the top eight finishers in the Invitational 1500. Ribbons will be given to 2nd-6th place relay teams.
There will be team trophies awarded to the top three boys’ teams and the top three girls’ teams. Scoring will
be 10-8-6-4-2-1.
Weight-Ins: There will NOT be weigh-ins for pole vaulters. Teams will be required to submit the OSAA pole-vault weight verification form.
Timing/Finish Line Camera: All timing will be done with Finish Lynx computer system as the primary and Pyro Flash Timing System as the backup. All decisions made by the meet referee regarding finish video will be final.
Official results will be available to those schools competing at the conclusion of the meet. Coaches may pick up results at the Clerk’s Circle after the meet. Results will also be available on the Jesuit High School website, www.jesuitportland.org and on athletic.net following the meet.
