Congratulations to Ismael Osorio of Reedsport who set a new NB Frosh-Soph record in the boys shot put (47-11) beating the old mark of Marshall Wadnizak of Sheldon (46-08.5) set in 2000.
Welcome to Frank Shriver Track, home of the North Bend Bulldogs. This meet is designed for the younger (JV) athletes: Freshmen and Sophomore boys and girls. You may enter as many athletes as you like but no upper-classmen please.
Please find the order of events listed below. We want to start the 10:00 field events on time so plan ahead, check in with meet officials 15 minutes before the event begins, and complete your warm-ups prior to 10:00. Athletes will have three preliminary throws and jumps in the lj, tj, shot, discus and javelin. We plan on taking the top seven from field event pre-lims to a finals round with three more attempts. Six places will score. In the pole vault, starting heights will be 6'-0" (girls) and 7-0" (boys) and will advance in 6" increments. In the high jump, starting heights will be 3'-10" (girls) and 4'-10" (boys) and will advance in 2" increments until 4'-10 (girls) and 5'-10" (boys) where the bar will be raised in 1" increments.
As NBHS has an artificial turf field, rubber tipped javelins will be required. NBHS will have a selection of javelins to use if you do not have rubber tipped javelins. Please have all athletes not in field event competition stay off the infield as discus and javelin throws will create major safety concerns on the field.
Six places will also score in the running events (10-8-6-4-2-1) which begin at 11:30. We have an eight lane track and a FinishLynx fully automated timing system with Hy-Tek meet management software. Girls races will precede boys races on the track. Slower heats will precede faster seeded heats.
Coaches: please have all your entries registered on www.athletic.net by 12:00 noon on Friday April 4th so that entry sheets can be created. Please make sure that your athletes have times/marks entered so that proper seeding can be done. Scratches and other changes can be made as you arrive at North Bend High. Please come to the track shed immediately upon arrival to get your meet packet and to make any athlete entry changes. We will have a short coaches meeting at 9:30 am at the track shed. Concessions will be available at the meet. Your athletes may use the locker rooms in our gym at any time but please bring your own towels.
