8th Annual Houston Christian High School
Middle School Invitational Track & Field Meet
Dates: Wednesday & Thursday, March 25 & 26. On Wednesday we will have the girl’s field events and the boys running events, and then on Thursday the boys will have field events and the girls running events. Both girls and boys Pole Vault events are on Wednesday.
Time: The meet will start at 4:00 p.m. both dates.
Location: Houston Christian High School, located on the corner of the Sam Houston Toll Rd. and Kempwood, about 3 miles north of I10. The address is 2700 W. Sam Houston Pkwy. N., Houston TX. 77043
Divisions: There will be 12 divisions, 6th grade girls, 6th grade boys, 7th grade girls, 7th grade boys, 8th grade girls, and 8th grade boys, with a small school, Division 1 (average of 55 or fewer per grade for the total student body, denoted by the letter A), and large school, Division 2 (average of 56 or more per grade for the total student body, denoted by the letter B). The added 6th grade divisions should not slow down the meet much as it should make the other smaller and allow for more athletes to win awards.
Entry Fee: $100 for each boys or girls team, or $40 per division, or $5 per athlete. If you have fewer than 8 athletes in one division you will be ahead paying per athlete. The maximum any school could pay would be $200. If you only bring 7th and 8th grade athletes the maximum is $160. Make checks payable to HCHS track.
Entry Deadline: Tuesday, March 24 at 5 p.m. online at athletic.net. Please enter the correct division. Please contact Jason Shepherd at jshepherd@houstonchristianhs.org for any tech questions. Substitutions may be made at the meet. It would greatly help if the substitute was in the school roster on athletic.net.
Number of Events per Athlete:
Each athlete may participate in 5 events, but not more than 3 running events, and then only 2 individual events out of the 400m, 800m, 1200m, or 1600m. They may run the 400m, 800m, and the 4x400m relay, but not 3 individual events that are 400m or longer.
FAT: We will be using “TechnoFlash Timing.” All races will be finals against time.
Awards: Ribbons to places 1-6 in each event for all 12 divisions and team plaques to the top 2 schools in each division.
Scoring: 10-8-6-4-2-1, with relays doubled.
Order of Events:
In the running events, the 6th grade division 1 (A) will always go first. We will go 6A, 6B, 7A, 7B, 8A, and 8B Please note the order below for field events. This is the schedule for both days.

Discus Throw: 6B 6A 8B 8A 7B 7A (all throw 1.0 discus)
Pole Vault: 8A and 8B only. Boys and girls together at 4:00 p.m on Wednesday March 25th.
Registering Athletes:
1. Log into your coach account.
2. Click on Meet Registration. It will appear on the Menu Bar near the top of the webpage once you are logged in.
3. On the right-hand side of the page under Create/Edit Meet Entries, click on Houston Christian HS Middle School Invitational.
