GENERAL INFORMATION
It is absolutely imperative that all coaches read and completely understand the following guidelines for this meet and that team members are fully informed as to the rules of operation. In this manner, we can be assured of conducting a quality Championship Meet in keeping with the history of this prestigious event.

A. Combined Relays Championships:
The meet will be held Saturday, March 7 at Cesar Chavez High School, 3921 W. Baseline Road
B. Entry Fee And Admission Charge:
There will be an entry fee of $175 each or $350 both boys and girls.

D. Team Members’ Areas:
All coaches and their team members must remain in an area that is:
1. Away from the Lynx Track equipment at the starting and finish line.
2. Team members must remain on the field until the completion of their event.
3. Coaches are not allowed on the infield - coaches must remain in the stands.
E. Starting Times:
Coaches' Meeting 9:00 a.m.
Field Events 10:00 a.m.
Track Events 10:30 a.m.
F. Dressing:
Dressing facilities are limited; come dressed out if possible. Out of the valley teams will be notified of dressing facilities through their Athletic Director.
G. Medical:
Each school is to provide their own medical kit and supplies. There will be a Certified Athletic Trainer available.

I. Facilities:
1. Cesar Chavez has an all-weather track. Quarter inch (1/4") or shorter spikes ONLY are to be used.
2. Shot and discus circles are cement.
3. The take-off board for the long jump is an 9" board.
4. Starting blocks will be provided for the all-weather track.
5. Each school must bring its own batons (boys & girls).
6. All running events will be on the track, including boys and girls hurdle relays.
PARTICIPATION
A. Number of Events Allowed: Four events only per individual.
B. Uniforms: All participants will wear school-issued uniform. 2009 rules call for one solid color for tights and/or Bike shorts. Also, see Rule 4, Sec. 3, Art. 1 and 4 in the National Rule Book.
C. Disqualification will be enforced for any running infraction and/or unsportsmanlike actions.
D. Bull Pen Area: An on deck bull pen area will be designated. Teams must report to the bull pen on first call.
SCORING
A. Team events will be scored 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 1.
B. The following guidelines will be followed for the breaking of ties and awarding of places and points for all field events:
1. The team with the best individual performance in the event will be awarded the higher place and corresponding points.
2. In case of still being tied, the second best individual performance in the event will determine the higher place and points.
3. If still tied, the third best individual performance will be used to break the ties.
4. If, in the high jump and/or pole vault, a tie would still remain, the fewer number of misses per team will decide the higher place and points.
LANE ASSIGNMENTS
A. Lanes will be determined by draw in the bull pen area.
B. Entries of 8 or less in any one relay: a single heat and the ORDER of finish will determine the winners.
C. Entries of 9 to 16 teams requiring lanes the first 400 meters: a blind draw for two heats.
D. Depending on the number of heats required for each event the time schedule presented on the order of events is a GUIDE ONLY. IT WILL BE ADJUSTED FORWARD OR BACKWARD AS NECESSARY to keep the meet running smoothly.
SHUTTLE HURDLE RELAYS
A. BOYS—280 meter high hurdles, four-man team running 70 meters each.
B. GIRLS—240 meter high hurdles, four-girl team running 60 meters each.
C. Exchanges: See Rule 5, Sec. 9, Art. 12 and 13.
D. Boys’ 280 meter high hurdles and girls’ 240 meter high hurdles shuttle relay will be run on the TRACK.
FIELD EVENTS
A. Three member team total. Best height or distance of each team will be counted. In order for a team to score there must be at least 1 attempt by each team member—although less than 3 may compete for outside qualifying.
B. Participants in the shot put and discus will be allowed 4 attempts. Participants will be divided into flights. Each athlete in the flight will be given 2 consecutive attempts before going to the next participant. All 4 trials by each participant in that flight will be concluded before going on to the next flight.
Weigh-Ins will be at 9:00 - 9:45 a.m. at the finish line for implements
Boys 12 lb shot Girls 4 kilo shot—only (no 8 lbs)
C. Long Jump and Triple Jump: Management and organization will be determined at a later date.
Take-off boards are measured 24’ and 32’ from the pit. Please train your athletes accordingly.

TRANSPORTATION
Each school must arrange transportation for their student athletes.
AWARDS
Medals will be awarded all first, second, third and fourth place finishers.
Presentation of awards will be made immediately following the event for winning team medals. Championship Trophies will be awarded to the girls and boys winning teams.
Meet Apparel
Participants must wear school-issued uniforms that comply with the National Federation of State High School Association.
Other than the school-issued uniform, athletes must conform to the following policy established for this meet by the Games Commitee:
