Greater Columbia B Invitational

 

 

 

 

 

 

On Friday May 15, 2009, the Greater Columbia B League Meet will be held at Eldred Field at Glenwood High School starting at 3:00 with field events and 3:30 with running events. Please have your athletes registered on Athletic.net by Wednesday May 13^th. A coaches meeting will be held at 2:00 for scratches. NO ADDS! Coaches remember to declare six (6) runners for the relay teams. This is a qualifying meet for the 5/6 District track meet in Kittitas on May 22^nd. In the discus, javelin, shot put, long jump, and triple jump, we will have 3 throws/jumps and then finals with 3 throws/jumps. We will be taking six (6) athletes to the finals. There will be ribbons through 6^th place, scoring through 5^th place and four (4) athletes will be seeded into the 5/6 District Track Meet. 

 

Schools have been asked to run the following events:  Klickitat = High Jump, Trout Lake Boys Long Jump/Triple Jump, Glenwood = Discus, Javelin, Bickleton = Pole Vault and Girls Long Jump/ Triple Jump, Yakama Nation Tribal School = Shot Put. Each school is also responsible for one timer, Julie Brazil will be the head timer at the finish line. Jeff Agar will be our official starter. The rules committee will be Aaron Oldenburg, Jim Reed and Tom Whitmore. The relay zones will be monitored by Morgan Colburn, Chris Venema, and Jim Reed. We will be staying up to date on the meet scoring as the meet progresses and will be handing out league champion team certificates. There will be a coaches seeding meeting at the end of the track meet to seed athletes for the District 5/6 meet. Also, there will be concessions and a hamburger meal that athletes can buy food during the seeding meeting.

 

Please wear the appropriate shoes, no spikes longer than ¼”. The javelin runway is NOT rubber.

 

Please post times or distances for your athletes on Athletic.net. We will try to put the faster athletes in the same heats in the shorter races.
