Scratch Meeting: 9:15 a.m.
Field Events: 10:00 a.m.
Running Events: 11:30 a.m.
Entry Fee: Entry fee will be $50 per team ($100 for both Boys' and Girls' teams) or $10 per athlete. Please bring check payable to Horseshoe Bend Athletics.
Scoring: 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1.
Order of Events: At 10:00 a.m. will be Boys' Discus, Girls' Shot Put, Boys' Long Jump, Girls' Triple Jump, Boys' Pole Vault, & Girls' High Jump. There will be three throws/jumps. No Minimums and no Finals. Athletes need to report to their event(s). Do Not do warm-up trials unless a coach or official is present.
At 11:30 a.m. the running events will begin. Girls will be first followed by the Boys. They will proceed as follows: 3200, 100/110 Hurdles, 4x200 Relay, 100 m, 800 m, 4x100 Relay, 400 m, 300 Hurdles, Medley Relay, 200 m, 1600 m, 4x400 Relay.
Entry Instructions: Each school will be allowed only 1 Relay team per relay event. Each school will be allowed 3 entries per event (unlimited for distance events). Place your entries in Athletic.net under Mustang Invitational. If you don't want to use Athletic.net, e-mail or fax Russ Bradshaw, (Horseshoe Bend AD) with your entries. Each school needs to provide one adult to help with a field event or timing. We cannot run the meet without timers, so please find someone to assist with the meet. Those helping in the field events will need to meet at the "Boxcar" at 9:45 a.m. If you have a preference as to which event your team would like to help with please let me know.
Entry Deadline: Thursday, April 29, 2010.
Starting Heights: Starting heights will be announced at the scratch meeting.
Warm-Ups: Set up "camp" in the practice field not the Football field and begin warming up. Please keep the Football field clear.
Equipment: No equipment will be provided. Throwing implements, as well as vaulting poles and relay batons will not be provided. Please make sure your athletes bring their own. Starting blocks will be provided, but you might consider bringing your favorites.
Spikes and Uniforms: Spikes must be 1/4" or smaller. No needle or pin spikes Please!!!!! Any athlete using spikes larger than 1/4" will be disqualified from the competition. Remind all athletes about jewelry and proper uniforms. State rules will be enforced.
Awards: Medal will be given to the top 3 places. Placks will be awarded for the top Boys' and Girls' team.
