BURNEY SPRING CLASSIC

Dear Coaches:
The Burney Spring Classic Track Meet will be held on Friday, April 23, 2010 at Burney High School. Field events will begin at 11:00 a.m. and the running events will begin at 12:00 noon.
ENTRIES: You may enter up to three athletes in each event in each division. All entries must be made online at: www.athletic.net. Locate your state, section and school, and then activate your account if you have not already done so. The close of entries will be Wednesday, April 22, 2010 at 6:00 p.m.
SUBSTITUTIONS: WE WILL ALLOW BODY FOR BODY SUBSTITUTIONS IN ALL EVENTS, NO ADDS. Substitutions in Track events will be made with the Clerk of the Course. All substitutions in the field events will be done at the event.
ENTRY FEE: $10.00 per relay, $4.00 per individual. Please mail your check or bring to the meet. Make the checks payable to BURNEY HIGH SCHOOL.
ALL RACES ARE TIMED FINALS: We will run all events as timed finals in an effort to speed up the meet. Field events competitors will still get three trial jumps or throws and the top 7 will go in to the finals immediately after the trials. Trials marks will carry over to the finals. Please tell your athletes to stay at the event to compete in the finals.
AWARDS: Medals will be awarded to first through third place. Please pick up your awards at the end of the meet before you leave for home.
CLERK OF THE COURSE: Competitors in running events will report to the clerk by the 2nd call. They will be given their heat and lane assignments when they check in with the clerk. Late athletes will be scratched. The clerk will be located near the finish line on the track. All warm-ups will be done in the middle of the football field.
FINISH LINE STICKERS: All runners must wear a sticker, which will have their name, school and event. The sticker will be used at the finish line so be sure to have your athletes fill out and wear them. Stickers will be available from the Clerk of the Course.
UNIFORM RULE: We will enforce the uniform rule as printed in the 2009 rulebook. Please instruct your athletes to wear a school-issued jersey and shorts. Tights must be solid color as per the rulebook. Any special uniform request must be cleared in advance with the Meet Director. Remember, no jewelry is allowed.
STARTING HEIGHTS: The staring height for each field event will be the lowest entry height for all of the competitors.
POLE VAULT WEIGHT VERIFICATION: Coaches must sign the weight verification sheet at the pole vault prior to the start of competition.
RESULTS: We will attempt to have results available at the end of the meet. We will try to have results posted on athletic.net by Monday, April 27, 2010.
SNACK BAR: There will be a snack bar, which will operate throughout the meet.
