Computer entry requirements:
1.. TIME ENTRIES-
- Eleven and fifteen hundredths of a second = 11.15
- One minute ten and fifteen hundredths of a second = 1:10.15
- NOTE COLON BETWEEN MINUTE AND SECOND, PERIOD BETWEEN SECOND AND FRACTION OF SECONDS
1. All athletes must have a seed time for the event from a previous track meet. Accurate seed times are vital to fair placement in the heats at prelims.
2. 3000 Meter participant times should be under 16 minutes for girls and 14 minutes for boys.
3. Please take a minute to review the SOMSAC guidelines for track.
2010 Conference Track Meet
The conference track meets are scheduled as follows:
A. Apr 27 Girls Prelims at North Medford High School (McLoughlin Hosts). Have your entries finalized on Athletic.net by noon on Friday April 23rd. Rick Parsagian is the contact person at Hedrick (842-3727). McLoughlin will be responsible for reviewing all girls entries.
B. April 29 Boys prelims at Eagle Point High School. Have your entries finalized on Athletic.net by noon on Friday April 23rd. Harry Hedrick is the contact person at Eagle Point (830-6768). Eagle Point will be responsible for reviewing all boys entries.
C. May 1 Conference finals at Crater High School. Contact Tom Rambo at
Scenic Middle School if problems arise. (Phone: 494-6404)
The preliminary meets will start at with the scratch meeting and follow the enclosed schedule at . (No adds will be permitted.)
As a reminder, you may have three entries in the 800, 1500 and 3000. In the field events, you may have two entries unless you have three people who all have met or exceed the qualification standards. The standards are listed on the information sheet. In the field events the top eight go to the finals. Finals will be right after the preliminaries. Three tries in the preliminaries and two in the finals. Preliminary marks carry over to the finals.
Please note: We will run preliminaries and qualify 12 runners in the 800 and the 1500 (if there are more than 21 runners) to go to finals on Saturday. Set two even heats. Take top four in each heat plus the next four best times. Seeding for the 3000 and 1500 will be best outside lanes to inside lanes. Reminder for 3000 times- maximum 16minutes for girls and 14 minutes for boys. The 100, 200, 400, 800, hurdles and relay teams will seed best in middle lanes and work out to outside lane last. Relays will qualify top 3 teams in each heat plus the next two fastest times. If three heats are necessary in a relay top two teams in each heat plus next two fastest times will advance to finals. If possible when seeding for preliminaries, try not to have runners from the same school in the same heat. Preliminary results will be posted shortly after the event and denote athletes who qualify for the finals.
Beginning heights: 7th girls – 3’ 8” 7th boys – 3’ 11”
8th girls – 3’ 11” 8th boys – 4’ 2”
The bar will be raised in 3” increments until there is one more contestant than places to be awarded. At that time, it will be raised in 1” increments.
Beginning heights: 7th girls – 5’ 0” 7th boys – 6’ 0”
8th girls – 5’ 6” 8th boys – 7’ 0”
The bar will be raised in 6” increments until there is one more contestant than places to be awarded. At the time, it will be raised in 3” increments.
The schools below are to provide people to run the following events for both the prelims and finals. The school running the meet will provide tape measures.

All entries must be finalized on Athletic.net by noon on Friday April 23rd. We will be running all heat and flight sheets on Friday afternoon. It is imperative that your entries be entered correctly by noon on Friday April 23rd. Incorrect or errored entries may result in the athlete being scratched. There will be no additions after Friday at noon or at the prelims.

400 Relay and 1600 Relay – run two heats (if more than eight teams) – take the first three places in each heat and the next two best times to the finals.
100-200-400- Long Hurdles – Short Hurdles – If three heats are ran the first two places in each heat plus the next two fastest times to the finals. If four heats are ran the first two places in each heat will go to the finals.
800 – If there are more than sixteen runners preliminaries must be run. Seed two even heats take the top four placers plus the next four fastest times to the finals. In seeding the fastest goes in the middle lanes working out (like the sprint races) the next group will also work from the middle lanes out. (With the fastest on the inside of the lanes that are doubled up)
1500 – If there are more than twenty-one runners, preliminaries must be run. Seed two even heats with the fastest on the outside working in. Take the top four placers plus the next four fastest times to the finals.
3000 – There will not be any preliminaries run. In seeding for finals put fastest on the outside.
Shot Put – Discus – Long Jump – Preliminaries will have three attempts – the top eight will have two more attempts in the finals with the best going last. Preliminary marks carry over.
High Jump – Pole Vault – No preliminaries – continue until completed.
CONFERENCE FINALS AT CRATER
Scratch meeting. NO ADDITIONS.
8th Shot Put – boys followed by girls
7th Discus – girls followed by boys
7th Long Jump – boys and girls at the same time. Two pits.
8th High Jump – boys followed by girls

Additional Reminder: The final on Saturday is a continuation of the preliminary events. Participants in the 3000 may not double in any other running event over 150 meters, except the relay.
Example: A participant may not enter the 800 for the preliminaries, not make the final, and enter the 3000 on Saturday.

2 heats = first four places in each heat
3 heats = first two places in each heat plus the next two fastest times
4 heats = first two places in each heat
Scenic Middle School will have a representative to denote those athletes that qualify for the finals.
