5/13 OK-Silver Championships
There were a lot of exciting results at the Conference Championship meet on both the girls and guys side. Several personal and season records set. The day got started with a bang as Quincy Collings shattered the school high jump record, clearing 6'5! Cody Burch had a great vault of 12'3. Callie and Karisa had great high jumps of 5'2 and 5'1 respectively... and all that happened before we got started on the track!
The Girls team defended their title from last year, winning what turned out to be a 2-team battle with Calvin Christian. The scores were:
1) Hopkins 171 2) Calvin Christian 134 3) Kent City 67 4) Godwin Heights 46 5) Kelloggsville 42 6) NorthPointe Christian 33 7) Lee 32

5/7 Hopkins @ Calvin Christian
We had a very highly anticipated dual with Calvin that definitely lived up to it's expectations. On the girls side, both Hopkins and Calvin entered the final dual at 5-0. After the first event on the track (the 4x800), even though we lost the relay, it was clear the girls came to battle as they still shattered their previous record, and are now under 10 minutes! A lot of determination and heart went into every single event, and the ladies were able to grind out a 78-59 victory to finish the season undefeated (6-0) in dual meets going into the Conference Finals.
The meet was even closer on the guys side, as they held on for a 70-67 victory. This moves the team to 4-1-1 in the Silver, a tie for 2nd place, going into the Final. The dual meet season has flown by, but all of the hard work we have put in has been paying off as both squads combined to have only one loss, which speaks a lot to the dedication of our athletes this year. Keep working!
5/4 Hopkins Invitational
Hopkins was thrilled to finally host a home invitational. We hope this was the start of a long-standing, quality invitational. Our athletes came to race, as we saw some incredible personal records set, and even a school record was set by Katie Stein in the 800.
On the girls side, they pretty well dominated the meet from the start, medaling in every event, and WINNING 13 of the 17 events. TEAM scores were as follows:
1) Hopkins 254 2) Wayland 129 3) Bloomingdale 48 4) Creston 37 5) Kelloggsville 14 6) GR Track Club 10 7) Potter's House 2 8) Wellspring Prep 1
The boys team had a very strong showing against some tough competition. There were some impressive times established by all teams in a variety of events. The TEAM scores were as follows:
1) Kelloggsville 138 2) Wayland 121 3) Hopkins 101 4) Sparta 85 5) Bloomingdale 26 6) GR Track Club 18 7) Potter's House 15 8) Creston 13 9) Wellspring Prep 6

4/23 Kelloggsville and Kent City @ Hopkins
It was a soggy evening at home, but it didn't keep us from racing at a competitive level. We again had a double-dual against each team, the TEAM scores were:
Boys: Hopkins lost to Kelloggsville 75-53, and tied Kent City 64-64. This currently brings our record to 2-1-1. If needed to determine final standings at the end of the season, the pole vault (which was scratched due to the weather) will be the tie-breaker at the Conference Meet.
Girls: The ladies are now 4-0 in the Silver after defeating Kent City 82-46 and Kelloggsville 103-25.
A lot of improved times, be sure to track your progress!
4/16 Godwin Heights and NorthPointe Christian @ Hopkins
The weather cooperated enough for many of our athletes to participate in their first event of the season, and for many their first Varsity Track meet ever! This was a ran as an OK-Silver conference double-dual, the TEAM scores were as follows:
Boys: Hopkins defeated Godwin Heights 80-52 and NorthPointe Ch. 95-40, bringing their conference record to 2-0.
Girls: Hopkins defeated Godwin Heights 118-18 and NorthPointe Ch. 124-13, also bringing their conference record to 2-0.
Be sure to check the results out!
4/13 Hastings Relays
Freezing temperatures, snow, and the Junior/Senior Prom all combined provided some serious challenges for our team for our first outdoor event of the season! After 4 straight cancellations, we finally got outside (although most of you were rooting for a 5th cancellation I think!)
Even though we had athletes coming late and leaving early, and filling in for each other left and right, we made the most of it. We still had some pretty solid results considering the elements and stiff competition. The team scores were as follows:
1) Grandville 78 2) Grand Ledge 73 3) Eaton Rapids 70 4) Hastings 70 5) St. Joseph 46 6) Hopkins 39 7) Charlotte 33 8) Otsego 14 9) Godwin Heights 1 10) Lansing Waverly 0
