Practice Schedule and Expectations
Practices are conducted Monday through Friday after school at Silke Field. Times run from 3:40 until practice is finished, usually 5:45. We will meet at the track sheds. An event area coach may choose to hold a Saturday practice if he/she feels it is beneficial to the development of the athletes. An athlete’s practice must be supervised and then dismissed by the event area coach.
- Be at practice on time every day and complete the entire practice.
- If you miss practice, you will not compete at the next track meet unless the absence is excused by your event area and the head coach. If the meet is away, you will not travel. If it is a home meet, you will work at an assigned event area.
- If you accumulate 4 unexcused absences, you will be dismissed from the team.
- Athletes must check in with the event area coach at the beginning of practice and before they leave.
- Attendance will be kept and be used as a tool to help determine varsity letters and meet participation.
- In the event of an emergency, talk to your event area coach if something happens and you cannot attend practice. Example: Family Emergencies
