Dear Coach:
The 22nd Annual Shoreline Invitational Boys Track Meet is scheduled for Saturday, May 2, 2009. Our field events will start thirty minutes later this year to accommodate the change in venue of the Lake Washington Girls Invite. Field events will now begin at 12:30 p.m. Running events will begin at 1:00 p.m.
Last year there were concerns regarding the number of participants in field events, specifically the throws. Our meets philosophy has always been to allow one entry per team per event regardless of ability. That philosophy will not change. To address the concerns, we have moved the shot put starting time later and increased some second entry qualifying standards. Also please note that due to large numbers in the Frosh/Soph 1600, we will be splitting the field in half and run two heats. Heats will be divided evenly by time. We appreciate your patience as we attempt to make our meet a satisfying experience for everybody.
Last year the Shoreline Invitational was pleased to host 70 teams. Preliminaries will be run only in the 110 hurdles, 100 and 200 meter dashes. All other track events will have timed heats to determine final placings. Each school will have one entry per event, with an additional entry allowed, provided the qualifying standard for that event has been met by both entrants this track season.
The non-refundable entry fee is $100.00 per team or $15.00 per individual. Late entries will result in a $10.00 late entry fee. We will again have individual awards - medals for the top eight places, a championship trophy, electronic timing and quality officiating.
Please note that we adhere to WIAA sanctions, and that all participants must be accompanied by a coach at the stadium for the entire time of competition. Athletes or parents will not be allowed to pick up the team packet.
Please note you may enter only one runner in the 3200, unless both runners meet the 2nd entry qualifying standard. Please refer to #17 in the instructions for placement of your runner.

Enclosed is an instruction sheet, the order of events, 2nd entry standards, and a map to Shoreline Stadium. Please register your entries on www.athletic.net and complete the entry forms to include entry marks.
Additionally, payment must be received in the Athletics Office at the above address by 3:00 p.m. Monday, April 27th. Late entry forms will result in a $10.00 late entry fee – please respect our deadline for program and seeding purposes. We look forward to seeing you at the meet!
