A Track and Field Relay Meet featuring six running relays and seven field event relays for both boys and girls; Individual events include hurdle races for both girls and boys; 3000 meter Steeplechase over 36” barriers for boys, 2000 meter Steeplechase over 30” barriers for girls. (no water jump yet) 12 lb. hammer throw for boys and 4K hammer throw for girls totaling seventeen events.
The running relays will consist of four athletes per team. The field event relays will consist of three athletes per team.
Individual events –
Steeplechase = two (2) runners per school maximum! Hammer throw = Open … Field will be determined by interest. $5.00 entry fee applies to throwers not attached to an entered team. Hurdle races = one athlete per school per event.
Places will be determined by the best over-all times for the running relays. The teams’ total height/distance in the field events will determine the order of finish.
Competition in the field events, except in the high jump and pole vault, will consist of three attempts by each member of each team.
H.J. and P.V. will be conducted according to the normal rules. Opening heights P.V. will be 9’ for boys and 6’6” for girls. H.J. will be 5’ for boys and 4’4” for girls.
Awards Ribbons will be awarded for the first eight places in each event, and T-shirts will be awarded to the winners of each event. Team plaques to champions.
Rules for the meet – W.I.A.A. rules regarding number of events per participant, school issued uniform, etc. will govern athlete’s participation. Lane exchanging and filling of vacant lanes by unassigned athletes without approval by the clerk will be prohibited.
Warm-up area will be the upper field to the west of the track.
Teams are to locate in the WEST BLEACHERS unless the weather dictates locating in the covered stands.
Concessions will be available throughout the meet.
Souvenir shirts will be available for purchase during the meet.
