Welcome to Frank Shriver Track, home of the North Bend Bulldogs. Thank you for attending our home meet.
This meet is named in honor of Ray Nelsen. Coach Nelsen coached track and taught English at North Bend High for 27 years (1968 through 1994). Twelve of those years he was the head coach. He was also the head cross country coach at NBHS for 16 years.
Coaches: please have all your entries registered on www.athletic.net by 6:00 p.m. the night prior to the meet so that entry sheets can be created that evening. Scratches and other changes can be made as you arrive at North Bend High. No additions will be made to events after the coaches scratch meeting. Please meet the head coach immediately upon arrival to get your meet packet and to make any meet entry changes. Your athletes may use the locker rooms in our gym at any time but please bring your own towels.
We want to start the 4:00 field events on time so plan ahead, check in with meet officials 15 minutes before the event begins, and complete your warm-ups prior to 4:00. Athletes will have three preliminary throws and jumps in the lj, tj, shot, discus and javelin. With four schools in the meet we will take the top six from pre-lims to a finals round with three more attempts. Five places will score. The starting heights for pole vault will be 6'0" (girls) and 8'0" (boys) and will precede up at 6" increments. The starting heights for high jump will be 4'0" (girls) and 5'0" (boys) and will procede up 2" increments until 5' (girls) and 6' (boys) when the bar will be raised by 1" increments. As NBHS has an artificial turf field, rubber tipped javelins will be required. NBHS will have a selection of javelins to use if you do not have rubber tipped javelins. Please have all athletes not in field event competition stay off the infield as discus and javelin throws will create major safety concerns on the field.
Five places will also score in each individual event (6-4-3-2-1). Relays will be scored 6-4-2. Meet results will be uploaded to athletic.net soon after the meet.
Running events begin at 4:45. North Bend has an eight lane track and a FinishLynx fully automated timing system with Hy-Tek meet management software. Results of the races will be displayed at the end of each race on our video scoreboard. Girls races will precede boys races on the track. Slower heats will precede faster seeded heats.
