Lansing Catholic High School is proud to welcome you to the 13th annual running of the

Michigan Catholic Invitational. More than 20 teams will be on hand to enjoy an exciting and

competitive meet and a unique day for Catholic high school athletes.

 

Schedule

Grounds open at 7:00 a.m.

8:20     Coach’s Meeting (Stage)

8:45     Boys JV Race – unlimited entries

9:15     Girls JV Race – unlimited entries

10:00   Boys Varsity Race – 7 per team

10:30   Girls Varsity Race – 7 per team

10:55   Boys/Girls 2-mile –unlimited entries

11:20   Lunch on the Lawn

(Complimentary Coach’s Luncheon – Retreat Center dining room)

12:00   Mass for Runners and Awards

1:00     Buses depart

 

Entry procedures and deadline

Entries must be submitted after August 10 via www.athletic.net/

We time and score all races (2-mile, JV, and Varsity), we need the name and grade of

every runner who will participate in the meet. Since scoring is by number, you do not need to

specify which race a runner will participate in.

Deadline for entries is August 22. Questions about entries or using the

Awards

Invitational Champion boys and girls Varsity teams will take home our perpetual trophy, “The

Bishop’s Cup,” an 18” etched crystal cup. In addition to awards for the overall winners, teams

will be recognized as Divisional Champions based on school enrollment. Winner of the large

school division receives the Knights of Columbus Award, while the winner of the small school

division receives the St. Francis Award. Team trophies will also be awarded to the top 2 JV

teams. Members of all ten winning teams get a Michigan Catholic running bag. The top 20

varsity boys and girls medal, while the top 10 Varsity boys and girls also receive a “Champion”

t-shirt. The top 10 boys and girls in both the JV and 2-mile events will medal.

 

 

Check-In and Team Tents

Coaches can pick up team packets in the Race Office, adjacent to the Vendor Tent. A fully

staffed first aid station also will be located on site. Team tents can be placed on the perimeter

of the field in front of the stage.

 

Parking

Free parking is available on site for spectators. School buses will park on site.

 

Admission

Admission is $5 per person or $15 maximum per car.

 

Michigan Catholic T-shirts

Race T-shirts will be available to purchase . Coaches receive complimentary long-sleeve “Coach” shirts.

 

Complimentary Luncheon for Coaches

All coaches are invited to a complimentary lunch in the Retreat Center dining room. This year’s lunch will consist of a sandwich and salad bar as well as desert and beverages. All coaches from your program are welcome.

 

Concessions

The Michigan Catholic features a vendor tent that offers a variety of foods as well as snacks and drinks. Complete lunches will be available for under $5.

 

Enjoy the property

St. Francis Retreat Center is a beautiful 95-acre campus. Kids can bring Frisbees, footballs,
