               Avon Old Farms School looks forward to welcoming your team for our Founders League Cross Country Championships on Saturday, November 2nd.

               We will follow the NEPSTA recommendation for odd-numbered calendar years and run the girl’s race before the boy’s race. The day’s schedule is as follows:

Our course is new as of last year. If you remember our old course, it is in the reverse direction with our start and finish line near each other. Course records set last year:

JV RACES ONLY: To accommodate running both girls and boys J.V. races with a 10min separation, we will use the natural fork in our course located 300m into our race to keep each race as separated as possible. There is a chance for an overlap between the first and last runners near the end of their race. Enclosed, you will find a detailed map of the JV Fork.  (Varsity races will stay on the original course.)

Schools may enter no more than seven runners in each Varsity race; assuming a complete varsity team has been fielded, unlimited runners may compete in the JV race.

We have hired Fast Track Timing to provide professional timing and scoring for the meet and we expect to have all results finalized for distribution to coaches in time of the awards ceremony. You will receive an email from the timing company for online entries.

The Founders League has traditionally honored team success above individual results. We will therefore ask the defending champions, the Choate Rosemary Hall girls and the Loomis Chaffee boys, to bring the League championship plaques to the awards ceremony. In addition to the team awards, the top 15 individual finishers in the Varsity race will be recognized for earning All-League Honors, and the top 15 individual finishers in the Junior Varsity race will be recognized for their accomplishments.

 Enclosed you will find a map for Drop-off and Parking. Please note that our reception will conclude at our Field House. Team tent area is located on our course map near the track and portable toilets. Locker rooms and showers will be available in the Field House. Athletes should bring their own towels and secure their belongings.

Our Assistant Coach, Darell Tibbles will contact you with information on ordering Founders’ shirts. A preview of the t-shirt’s image is enclosed.
