Parking

General Notes

• We are following USATF guidelines as well as best practices used in high school meets held this fall.
• Certain parts of the venue (course and awards area) are off limits to parents and spectators.
• Mind the red and yellow lines marking the protected areas. These areas are off limits to spectators and parents.
• The purpose of this USATF Georgia Developmental Meet is to provide the athletes an opportunity to complete
  • We know you want to get pictures
  • We know you will be watching the start and finish from further away than normal
  • Nevertheless, the procedures outlined in this document must be followed.
• To limit the number of “people” in the park, we ask you to leave the venue once your race is completed and you are cooled down, provided you have have no one else racing.
• Maintain social distancing.
• Masks are strongly encouraged where social distancing measures cannot be maintained.

Team Tent Areas

• There are two tent areas … on the “left” near the river and on the “right” on top of the hill.
• Teams are asked to setup in the designated team tent area. There will be signs showing as such.
• Unattached athletes can find a spot in either one of the team tent areas.
• Leave twenty feet spacing between tents. And, if you have a large seating area surrounding your tent, leave twenty feet between you and neighboring teams.
• Spectators can move about for better viewing but stay outside the barriers protecting the course. For instance, spectators with tents near the river can walk around to the right side to better see the finish.
  • Do not cut across the course / field.
  • Stay outside the barriers as you move around the venue.

Teams A-E on the right

On the A-E side (Right), tents are to be placed on the top of the hill on the gravel and not at the barrier.

Teams F-Z on the left

On the F-Z side (Left) near the river, tents are to be placed on the gravel track and not at the barrier.

Course

• Absolutely no parents inside the red barriers lines. They must remain outside the red lines.
• Only athletes currently running or warming up can be inside the red barrier lines. These will be roped off or have flags.
• The yellow line indicates a caution area reserved for the awards, “drive through” only. Top 10 individuals will be announced one at a time, they will walk through, pick up their award medal, and leave the award area. Team awards will be announced, a coach or representative for the team will pick up the medals to distribute. No parents inside this area as awards are going on.
• We know they want to get pictures, but this is about the athletes competing.
• We know they will be watching the start and finish from further away than normal. But this is what we need to do at this time.

Starting Line

• Only two coaches allowed at the starting line for warm-up/start
• Wrist bands in each team packet will indicate who can be on the field
• Each team can determine who can access the field by providing wrist band
• Five wrist bands given to each team with extra available where needed

Finish Line

• Only one coach allowed at the finish chute to direct athletes back to tents.
• Athletes must quickly clear the finish area
• No water at finish line
• No timing chip removal.
• Coaches will need to be sure to collect chips at their team tent and return them to timing.

Tents

All spectator tents should be set up outside of the gravel track.

Parking

• No parking allowed along the driveway.
• Violators will be towed by the city.
• Overflow parking can be found at Cherokee High School or the lot closer to Marietta Hwy.
