Far East Qualifying
5000m, individuals:  Boys - 18:30   Girls - 22:15; TEAM Boys - 20:30; Girls - 24:00 (counting 4 runners)
At Misawa-Edgren today - Both Edgren and Yokota girls teams qualified. Edgren and Yokota boys both "First 4" and "Second 4" squads qualified.
Yokota boys are now the number two ranked team in the Pacific behind Singapore American at 5000 meters!!! Just ahead of Kadena. If you take out Singapore American,
Owen Young Perry, Jun Royster Edgren, Kaiden Meyer Yokota, and  Mickey Galvin Yokota are in the top 6 of the Pacific.
Yokota girls did well, but Perry girls did "weller", opening up their lead on everyone except Singapore American. Still, the Panther girls moved farther ahead of Edgren, Kadena and Zama. If you take out the 6 Singapore American girls in the top 10, Angelique Armijo MC Perry,  Elizabeth Mitchell MC Perry, Aubrey Giles Zama, Isabelle Pummill Edgren, Aiko Galvin Yokota,  and Addie Roth MC Perry are in the top 8.

4417m, individuals:  Boys - 16:30  Girls - 20:00. TEAM Boys - 18:30; Girls - 22:00 (counting 4 runners).
Boys - Qualified today: ASIJ, St. Mary's, Kinnick, & CAJ both "First 4" and "Second 4" runners; St. Maur, YIS, & Zama only "First 4" runners. K-International only needs to bring everyone down 4 seconds.
Girls - Qualified today: ASIJ both "First 4" & "Second 4" runners (even without 3 of top 5 contributing today). Kinnick, Seisen, ISSH, Zama only "First 4".  Did not make it: CAJ, YIS, St. Maur.

Do you think Kadena and Kanto schools will be allowed to send two teams of 4 runners per school per gender to Far East?

Considering season bests (4.4k), ASIJ boys could field 4 teams of 4 runners meeting the criteria; Kinnick 2 teams; St. Mary's 2 teams; CAJ 2 teams; Yokota 2 teams, St. Maur 1 team; YIS 1 team; Zama 1 team; [using 5k times] Kadena 2 teams; Edgren 2 teams; Kubasaki 1 team; OCSI 1 team; Edgren 1 team; EJKing 1 team; Perry 3 teams; Zion 0 teams; Guam 2 teams; JFK 2 teams; St. Pauls 2 teams; St. Johns 1 team; George Washington 1 team; Humphreys 1 team; but rest of KAIAC 0 teams. Singapore American 3 teams.

Considering season bests (4.4k), ASIJ girls could field 3 teams of 4 runners meeting the criteria; Kinnick 2 teams; Seisen 2 teams; ISSH 2 teams; Yokota 1 team; YIS 1 team; Zama 1 team; [using 5k times] Kadena 1 team; Perry 1 team; JFK 1 team; St. Johns 1 team; but St. Paul, George Washington, OCSI, Zion, Kubasaki, EJKing, Guam, Humphreys and all of KAIAC 0 teams. Singapore American 2 teams.

MC Perry has 13 boys who have clocked a time faster than the mandated team average mark for 5000 meters; Yokota only has 9.  ASIJ has 17 boys ahead of the team average requirement for 4417 meters.  On the girls side, looking at 5k times, it would take the combined Zama+Yokota+Edgren+Kadena to outscore MC Perry in a standard "run 7 score 5" meet, despite the small size of the Perry squad. The Samarai have scheduled an Oct. 20 date to visit Kanto, so less than 3 weeks to an epic show-down, minus the international schools, who will be at Asia Pacific Invitational in Guam.

Although Yokota boys are the best of the Pacific at 5000m among schools not named Singapore American, ASIJ has 6 boys ahead of Yokota's 2nd at 4.4k. Yokota girls are third in the Pacific at 5000m, but ASIJ has 10 girls ahead of Yokota number 1 at 4.4k.

If anyone knows if Korean schools are running this season, tell them to post their results so we all can see.
