Portage Central JV Quad - Meet Information

Thank you for attending the Portage Central JV Quad. We hope that your teams have a good time and in a friendly competitive meet. I would like to remind you that any junior varsity level athlete regardless of grade is eligible to compete in this meet. If you have any questions, please let me know.

 

TIME SCHEDULE

3:45      Boy’s Pole Vault

 

4:00     

Girls: Discus (3 attempts, 2 and 1).

Boys: Shot Put (3 attempts, 2 and 1) and High Jump.

Long jump: Boys and girls open pit for 1 hour 30 minutes. (3 attempts)

 

4:30      Running Events

 

Athlete Registration: We would like to be able to get the entries on Athletic.net by Wednesday 5:00 PM. You will be able to make any changes needed as the meet goes on.

Individual Events: No limit to the number of athletes in individual events. Please have your top 4 runners to run in the first two heats, so that we can try to have the fastest runners in the first two heats. All runners have a chance to score, regardless of the heat they are in.

Relays: You may enter 2 relay teams.

Scoring: We will keep a team score for interest sake. Six places will score 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 1 for individual events, and three places for relays 10, 6, 2.

Results: We will provide printed results for each school and we can also email results if desired. We will upload all results to Athletic.net for your convenience.

Notes:

  1. We would appreciate any assistance that you could provide during the meet, such as field events, exchange zones, etc. This is a great learning meet for our JV athletes; they appreciate any assistance that you can provide.
  2. Runners are to report to the chute for the 100 meter dash, 110/100 Hurdles. Runners are to report to the start of the 200 meter dash. All other events will need the runners to report to the start/finish line.
  3. High Jump: Girls starting height is 3’ 10” with 2” raises. Boys starting height is 4’ 10” with 2” raises.
  4. Pole Vault: Girls starting height is 5’ 0” with 6” raises. Boys starting height is 7’ 0” with 6” raises. We may lower starting heights if there is a consensus. To keep the event rolling, we will not hold the bar a height while waiting for athletes to compete in other events.
  5. There will be one heat each of the 800 m, 1600 m, and 3200. Separate races for boys and girls, except for the 4x800 meters and the 3200 meters will be combined boys and girls. If you would like for the 4x800 and 3200 to be run separately, please let me know.
