Northwood XC Invitational

Meet Day Schedule:

            9:30am – HS Girls Varsity Race (Limit of 12 runners per team)

            10:15am – HS Boys Varsity Race (Limit of 12 runners per team)

            11:00am – HS Girls JV Race (unlimited entries per team)

            11:45pm – HS Boys JV Race (unlimited entries per team)

            12:30pm – HS Awards Ceremony

            1:15pm – Collegiate Women’s Race (5k)

            2:00pm – Collegiate Men’s Race (6k)

            2:30pm – Collegiate Awards Ceremony

           

Location: On Northwood University’s campus @ Fisher Fields/Fisher Family Trails. Please refer to maps for parking, team camp area and course layout.

Course: Relatively flat course with about one-third of the total race distance around an open grass field and the other two-thirds in heavily wooded trails consisting of packed dirt, grass or woodchips. There will be mile/kilometer marks throughout the course and inspectors at all intersections.

Entry Fees: High School teams - $150 per school ($75 per gender)

                        Collegiate Teams - $200 per school ($100 per gender)

                        Unattached athletes - $20 per person

 

Spectator Fees:      $5 per adult. Free for students 18 and under, Northwood Students, seniors and alumni.

Restrooms: Portable restrooms will be available near the team camp area.

Athletic Training: A certified athletic trainer will be on site. Please bring your own athletic tape and materials if needed.

Food: Concessions will be available at the course site. Additional area will be available on the service drive north of the course if teams wanted space for a cookout. Various on-campus dining options are available as well, with more information coming.

Awards:  Top 15 varsity finishers receive dry-fit Northwood Invitational t-shirts. Top 15 in JV will receive medals/ribbons. Top 2 varsity teams receive a trophy/plaque.

Timing: Meet timing will be done by Kevin Behmer and A2 Race Management. Bib-tags will be pulled at the end of the chute. Remind your athletes that in order to be counted as a finisher, they need to continue past the finish line to the end of the chute!

Free Parking: North of Fisher Fields (parking lots near Miner and Griswold Halls). Parking also available on north side of Tittabawassee River Road. Buses can drop off runners on campus, or off of Tittabawassee River Road, then park on Dublin Avenue (west of the course), on the dirt portion south of W Sugnet Road and north of Tittabawassee River Road.

 

Meet Shirts: A limited number of commemorative Northwood Invitational T-Shirts will be available on site for $15. Some additional Northwood team gear may be available as well.
